net mobile AG reports revenue increase in first quarter of 2009/10
Düsseldorf,15 th March 2010 – net mobile AG (ISIN: DE0008137852), Europe’s leading provider of mobile and interactive value added services, reported solid business development overall in the first three months of the 2008/10 financial year.
Revenue increased by €1,397 thousand or 6.7% to €22,342 thousand year-on-year (previous year: €20,945 thousand). The positive development is based on that of all divisions.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) deteriorated in the first three months of the current financial year by €256 thousand to -€184 thousand (previous year: €72 thousand). Overall, there was a deficit of -€209 thousand for the period under review (previous year: €100 thousand). The result was negatively impacted by expenditure for integration by the new large shareholder NTT DOCOMO and the associated reorganisation. In addition, depreciation increased by €337 thousand as a result of the investments undertaken, which mainly affect own work capitalised.
At 5.52%, the ratio of profit from operating activities to revenue remained almost unchanged against the previous year (5.50%), and in absolute terms, there was an improvement of €72 thousand to €1,228 thousand (previous year: €1,156 thousand).
The Company’s equity increased by €4,700 thousand in the period under review, principally as a result of the rights issue implemented by the new Group parent company NTT DOCOMO, and now totals €38,117 thousand as of the reporting date. At 64.3%, the equity ratio is still at a high level. The Company had cash and cash equivalents in the amount of €6,615 thousand at the reporting date.
Outlook
The Board of Managing Directors promises positive further development for net mobile AG following the incorporation into a globally operating group. The stated targets for the next few years – internationalisation and further development of the existing technology platforms – will be implemented with the support of the new main shareholder.
Particular attention is currently being paid to the expansion of the regional coverage of payment products and the development of solutions for Carrier. Very pleasing progress and a host of new orders are expected in these segments.
Overall, the Company anticipates significant growth in revenue and earnings over the next few years. In this respect, integration into the NTT DOCOMO group is expected to have a considerable effect on the current financial year. The Board of Managing Directors therefore anticipates a result on the level of the previous year as a maximum for the current financial year, albeit with increased revenue.
